The charity presentation

WORTHING Fire Station hosted a presentation evening awarding the money raised at this summer’s open day to charities.

This is the third successful year in which Worthing firefighters have joined forces with Broadwater Carnival Society to raise vital funds for local community-based charities.

Cheques were presented by The Mayor of Worthing, Cllr Alex Harman, during an evening which was also attended by Worthing Fire Station Open Day co-ordinator Darren Wickings and Chairman of Broadwater Carnival SocietyAnn Barlow.

The five charities are:

• Worthing District Community First Responders

• Buddys (café and drop-in centre run by Mencap)

• West Durrington Phoenix Club

• WADARS (Worthing & District Animal Rescue Service)

• The Fire Fighters Charity
