DONATIONS of clothes and other items for the homeless have been piling up.

As part of the Wrap Up Brighton initiative, the team at Brighton Station has just taken its collection of donations to St Peter’s Church Safe Haven.

Items for the homeless included 45 coats, 35 umbrellas and two sacks of hats, scarves and other warm accessories.

The coats were all donated by staff at Brighton Station and the umbrellas are unclaimed lost property.

Donation bins were placed in five mess rooms throughout the station.

The project comes from Wrap Up London, which staff in Brighton have adopted.
