Emergency services respond to incident at Hove petrol station

A MOTORIST has driven their car into a petrol station’s shop building.

Emergency services were called to Esso Petrol Station in Station Approach, Denmark Villas, Hove at 12.15pm.

Nick Verrecchia was on the bus going past Hove Station just moments after.

He said: “It was a white car and it looked as if it went straight through the petrol station window.

“There were lots of people around. I’m not sure if anyone was hurt or not.”

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “A white Honda Jazz collided with a parked BMW on the forecourt.

“The driver, a woman in her 80s, then reversed into the station building, causing damage to a wall and windows.”

South East Coast Ambulance Service were also sent to the scene but no one was injured.
