Boy, 16, dies in hospital after stabbing

A 16-YEAR-OLD boy has died in hospital after being stabbed in the street.

The teenager was attacked last Saturday in Old Church Road, St Leonards, and was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton for treatment.

He was in a critical condition and on Friday the boy’s family devastatingly decided to withdraw the life support machine, and he died shortly after 4.30pm.

His death is now being investigated by the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team.

Jack Cunnion, 18, a scaffolder from Essex Road, St Leonards, and a 16-year-old boy from St Leonards appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court last Monday charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.

They were both remanded in custody and are due to appear at Lewes Crown Court on December 18.
